2012 Yamaha Stratoliner Deluxe Review & Pictures

What is special about a custom motorcycle is similar to what defines the work of artists in various fields: The restaurant where the chef remove the menu, prepare a meal just for you.
The shoemaker clients with referrals. Hotel lovely, secret handful Globetrotters. Concert pianist playing to a small circle of friends at a baby grand Yamaha.

The same company makes musical elite for more than a century, and the latest world-class motorcycle, endorsed Jeff Palhegyi art.
As a designer for Star, Yamaha’s premium car brand, he appreciates the privilege. Interpretation of its flagship model, the Stratoliner, is a gem on two wheels.

Based in Southern California, Palhegyi enjoy sufficient latitude, and the vast resources of Japanese firms. For 20 years, he has been “embedded relationships, provides outsourced design, planning and product development, working with their engineering department and is fully integrated with the company.”

Palhegyi citing the central question in the origin of this two-year cycle as, “How do we make it unique?”

Jeff Palhegyi said: “This is a level of detail, fit and finish, often in places where no one was looking, such as rising surface that determines the mass of the upper fairing corner lot of testing and re-do go in. .. it needed road engineering pretty intense. ”

One would hope so, Yamaha became known for his championship motorcycle racing Grand Prix.

Jeff Palhegyi said: “. They brought that same sort of accuracy for this project, from engineers to test this motorcyclist clean sheet of paper, very far from what I’ve previously built.”

Using stereo lithography (defined as “an additive manufacturing process using a vat of liquid photopolymer resins and UV curable UV laser to build parts a layer at a time”), a “print” three-dimensional bicycle made. This became the prototype plastic model of aerodynamic tests and three rounds of design tweaks.
